Michael A. Persinger

Also M. A. Persinger, M. Persinger, Dr. Michael E. Persinger (directory listing)

An associate professor of psychology at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario. His paper on two models in which extremely low frequency (ELF) fields might mediate paranormal behaviours, remote viewing among them, is in the release as part of the proceedings of a September 1977 IEEE conference. A monograph in the release says that early in 1975 he hypothesized the 7.8 Hz earth-ionosphere resonance to be the primary carrier of telepathy. SAIC's 1993 report lists him among researchers who had reported an association between anomalous cognition and fluctuations in the geomagnetic field. A paper he wrote with George B. Schaut, on geomagnetic activity on the days of spontaneous telepathic experiences, is also in the release.
