I. M. Kogan

Also Ippolit Moiseyevich Kogan, Ippolit Kogan, Ippolite Kogan, Kogan, I. M.

A Soviet engineer, named in one listing as Dr. Ippolit Moiseyevich Kogan, who chaired the Bioinformation Section of the Moscow Board of the Popov Society. Until 1969 he published widely on the theory of telepathic communication, and his main interest was measuring the channel capacity of the paranormal channel. A September 1975 Defense Intelligence Agency report, Soviet and Czechoslovakian Parapsychology Research, called him the first to publish experimental results on human telepathic communication after Vasilev. SRI International's remote viewing trials from a submersible were partly a test of his hypothesis that such information is carried by extremely low-frequency (ELF) electromagnetic waves.

  • One of our purposes in experimenting with remote viewing from a submersible was to test the extremely-low-frequency (ELF) electromagnetic hypothesis put forward by I. M. Kogan of the Soviet Union, who suggests that information transfer under conditions of sensory shielding is mediated by ELF waves with wavelengths in the 300-to-1000-km region.
