A clinical psychologist (Ph.D., California School of Professional Psychology, 1979) who was a Senior Research Psychologist in SRI International's Cognitive Sciences Program from 1985 to 1990. He co-authored SRI's December 1986 report on screening and selecting personnel with the Personality Assessment System, and wrote SRI's October 1989 report on a three-year effort to improve remote viewing quality using hypnosis, which an annotated bibliography says explains why the technique is not useful. For SAIC he co-authored with Edwin May a December 1991 proposal on target and sender dependencies in anomalous cognition, and Jessica Utts's assessment of the evidence names him as principal investigator of an SAIC experiment in which viewers faxed him their sessions.
