Uri Geller

Also Mr. Uri Geller, Yuri Geller

An Israeli performer whom Harold Puthoff and Russell Targ tested at Stanford Research Institute (SRI), including picture-drawing experiments in which he sat in an electrically shielded room; their paper on the work was published in Nature in October 1974. In 1972 the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency sent a team to evaluate SRI's results with him, and a TIME report in the release quotes one member of that team saying SRI's tests were performed with "incredible sloppiness."
