Livermore Laboratory (LLL) of the AEC to inform him that
they had just spent two days in the laboratory testing
Geller. Forty AEC scientists participated in a month
long program to design the experiments which were done
over two days at LLL at a cost of $20,000 for equipment
expense.

magnetometers, neutron counters, active and passive infra-
red, normal and low light level video, and motion picture
film, both high speed, color and black and white. Most
of the monitoring was done covertly in that Geller was
not informed of the techniques that were being used to
observe him. The highlights of the two days included the
bending of metal in hermetically sealed containers,
generation of 100 gauss magnetic fields by Goller to
selectively erase predetermined portions of HP-65 progres
cards, and other exercises. Geller will be examined for a
second series of experiments at LLL the second week in
December and the third week in December arrangements for
further testing have been made at NASA/AMES, Moffat Field
in Sunnyvale, Calif.

TEL AVIV, NOV. 1, REUTER - URI GELLER, THE ISRAELI WHO
ALLEGEDLY BENDS SPOONS BY THE FORCE OF HIS MIND, HAS PREDICTED
VAR IN THE MIDDLE EAST WITHIN THE NEXT SIX WEEKS.
THE ENGLISH-LANGUAGE JERUSALEM POST TODAY QUOTED A SENIOR
DEFENSE MINISTRY OFFICIAL HERE AS SAYING THAT MR GELLER
CONTACTED THE ISRAELI PURCHASING MISSION IN THE UNITED STATES A
FEW DAYS AGO WITH AN URGENT MESSAGE THAT WAR WOULD
BREAK OUT
IN THE MIDDLE EAST "SOMETIME BETWEEN NOVEMBER 10 AND DECEMBER
12," HE SAID HE WAS NOT YET SURE OF THE EXACT DAY AND HOIE.
THE MESSAGE WAS PASSED ON TO THE DEFENSE MINISTRY IN ZEL,
AVIV.
THE POST ADDED : "IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT IN THE EVENT OF IR
GELLER'S PROPHECY PROVING TRUE, HE COULD BE EMPLOYED BENDING
SOVIET -BUILT SAM MISSILES USED BY THE ARABS."
SCIENTISTS HAVE AS YET FOUND NO EXPLANATION FOR MR
GELLER'S CAPACITY TO BEND SPOONS AND OTHER METAL OBJECTS.
THOUGH THEY HAVE SAID IT IS PROBABLY DUE TO AS YET UNEXPLAINED
SLEIGHT OF HAND.
