SUMMARY OF INFORMATION
USMC LTC William
(Rich) Higgins continues to be secluded from
the other hostages; at this time, he is continually on the move.
USMC LTC Higgins is currently located in the immediate vicinity
of As Sharbin. See "A" ENCLOSURE 1. On or about
10 January 1989,
he will be located in the area of Wadi az Zaynah.
See "B",
ENCLOSURE 1.
Although Terry Anderson is the subject of increased and
intensified negotiations, his release is not imminent.
Anderson
is alone and currently located in the area of Magsabah al Jiyah.
See ENCLOSURE 2.
Thomas Sutherland is also alone and currently located in the
immediate vicinity of Ayn Ad Dulb.
See ENCLOSURE 3. He is
considered an educator whose status is devoid of political
entanglements.
And, he is in excellent physical condition.
The
captors feel he should be among the first to be released because
of the favorable impression
he can create among the press.
Terry Waite is in the company of two other English hostages.
Higgins, Anderson and Sutherland are constantly on the move,
in a continuing shuffle from one safe haven to the next.
