MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD
SUBJECT:
CENTER LANE Interview Summary - CL-1026/8307/01 (U)
1. (S/CL-3/NOFORN) On 120900 July 1983, source #01 was interviewed
in an attempt to determine if he could provide information relevant
to a group of unidentified buildings. The project 8307 sponsor had
provided geographic coordinates of the buildings, a photograph of
the buildings, and a map showing their relative location
(see Incl 1) .
2. (S/CL-3/NOFORN)
For this interview source was given the
geographic coordinates provided by sponsor. Other information
provided by the sponsor was not shown to the source as the
collection plan called for its use as "feedback" and cuing material
for possible subsequent interviews.
3. (U) A transcript of the interview was prepared including a
narrative explanation of the drawing which source provided
(see Incl 2) .
4. (U) A DA Form 341 (Agent Report) was prepared for the sponsor .
This report related the salient points of the interview. Attached
as an exhibit to the DA Form 341 was a copy of source's drawing
(see Incl 3) .

"U" to make it more curved.

that's south of there, something white ... . Just a
minute.

. There's a group of towers or . . looks
like ah .. four or three in a row, .. one to the side,
standing ... to the south and left of the diamond
building .
They're spread out.
....... Seems to
be ... a .. two quadrangle shapes, with buildings around
it. . side by side to the right of the towers area.

Break out quadrangles.

Ah .. interiors look like squares, "H" shaped in the
center, "C" shapes to the outside edges .

Okay. These "H" shapes and "C" shapes are ground
patterns or buildings, patterns?

Buildings. Ground patterns just squares .

All right. Now if you go from the "H" shaped
building, between the "C" shapes, from the "H"
proceeding between the "C" shapes, describe.

They're two long buildings on my left and right.

Okay. With the "H" shape building to your back, the
"C" shape buildings to the left and right, move down
between the "C" shaped buildings, down, down, down
and describe what's in front of you.

. . . Large square.

All right. Now as you're standing looking at this
large square, describe the surface you're standing
on .

White pavement.
#66:
Okay. Now, as this white pavement proceeds towards
the large square, describe.

Goes up, ... it's tiered. Ah ... seems like there's a
wall, .... some ... wait a minute, I'm getting ... just a
minute.
. Impression of steps left and right.

And in the middle, straight through?
#01:
Some kind of opening.

All right, move through the opening and describe
what's 50 feet the other side of the opening.

Just getting interlocking columns of concrete.

Um, um and beyond now the square thing to the other
side, in front.

Keep going back to a .. block house formation, hard
block, hard wall, hard square.

Yes, that characterizes the structural concept of
this thing.
I'm interested if you stand now and
look out away from this structure.

"H", "C" shape left, right, buildings, large open
square, some kind of ... leaning concrete column or
design, center front, beyond that, open black
enlongated area, ... very stubby square, hard, white
area, building shape

A lot of white pavement .

Listen carefully for
movement exercise.
You're moving now from, down the white pavement
area,
from the "H" building, between the "C"
buildings, moving now towards the square opening in
front of you. And you're now moving to 100 feet
beyond the square opening, describe.

.. Standing in front edge of a half moon shape.
It's like an alcove, bends around me left and right,
slight overhang .

Go another 100 feet.
#01:
Just a middle of an entry to a .. "I" shaped wall.

Just get an impression of a wall of glass.

Okay, from here, up 100 feet and look down and
describe.

Platform, .. large square, white platform with a .. like
a wall slanting down away from me. It's a ... it's
like a big screen ... it's a square slanting away.

Large, white block house shape, some kind of dome a
little bit further south, .... oval .... That's all I
see of buildings.

Okay .
I'm of course having trouble at the angle of
the elevation when you look south like that.
Looking south from the top of the "H" shaped
building, within a 1,000 meters.

.See "U" pointed away, shape building's like
a "U", bent ends like a horseshoe.

Um, um.

Pointed away from me.

Okay, let's turn and look the opposite direction.
#01:
Large, block white square.

All right. We have a mirror reversal of directions
here, so when I tell you then to face, what you know
as north, then you see the flanking
"C" shaped
buildings and the large white square?
#01:
Yes.

All right. All right, I want to orient this group
with one more situation.
Describe the main entrance
to this group of buildings.
#01:
... Running straight out from the "H" shape, there is
a triple arch, main road through the center, but no
cars.
... The (mumble) has got a square top to
the triple arch, it's beyond the white square, some
kind of gate or fencing to the left, right.

Okay .

It's very squared, the arches.
#66:
All right. Now, I want you to remember so you can
draw. We have main street and we have some sort of
entryway through arches and a big white square. And
we have "C" shaped buildings left and right. And
then an "H" building. I want you to remember that
and then I have one more verification.

A lot of light concrete too.

DRAWING EXPLANATION
#01:
Okay, this is just drawing #1. I'll label it a
#1. I've labeled what's a main street out here and
how it comes in through a arched area. And goes
around a white square shaped object and there's
some kind of a black opening, I'll call it a black
opening. What it is, is just a black rectangle
against the white concrete like,
" C"
shaped
buildings and "H" shaped building. And they are
very distorted views of what the buildings look
like. I got a feeling like they're much larger and
you can just define the "C" part, you know like the
legs of the "C" and the legs of the "H", like the
"H" building is much wider and thicker. But I'm
not sure which side the "H" is formed on, it's just
an "H" shaped building.

Okay, in terms of numbers of stories, are these
single story or multi story buildings?
#01:
Oh, they're multi story. They're like 5 or 6
stories, somewhere between 4 and 6.
# 66:
And then when I ask you what was to the southeast
of this?
#01:
There's a lake with an island in it, a lake or a
pond with some kind of an island in it.
#66:
Okay. Anything else?
