BACKGROUND: US Marine LTC William Richard (Rich) Higgins while returning to the UN peace keeping force at Naqurah (UNIFIL) located 15 miles south of Tyre, Lebanon. He was abducted by three assailants near Ras Ain located four miles south of Tyre. The coastal track where he was abducted is contested by the Iranian backed "Hezbollah" and the Amal, a Lebanese military force who welcome the UN force in the area. The Amal is also conducting a search for Higgins. 4.
