Session:
Source was informed that session would be a
continuation of last operational session (CRV-05) .
Session began in S6
with a time line search for the "points where (i.e. , when) the weapon was
used." Time line encompassed the month of March 1984.
Source was
directed to gather data relevant to each point identified in the time
line search, particularly with regard to the "target".
Source was later
asked to describe the area connected with each of these points.
Towards
the end of the session, ops officer passed a road network sketch to
monitor, who then asked source to place "point C" on the map.
3. (S/NF/SK)
Summary:
Source identified four instances of weapon
use during March 1984:
Point A: Target (AOL-"F-102/6 aircraft") experienced "flaming abrasion"
like a hot, powerful jet of gas playing on the surface of an object,
burning and eroding it away.
Point B:
Target was a person or personnel in a crude structure or
protected by a berm or bunker. Target could not easily be "got at" by
"usual methods". Weapon use was both an operational test and an
expedient; it is directional/selective, highly concentrated and
"surgical ".
Its effects can be delivered virtually instantaneously,
even over kilometer distances.

Point C:
Weapon was deployed in a valley/gulley with a gravel road;
steep, rocky hills on either side, bushes (AOL-"like creosote bushes") ;
sparse, austere
setting.
Road goes up gulley into rocky, craggy
mountains/hills with cliffs.
At the site is a "BTR-60" on its side.
There are other stationary mechanized vechicles and the smell/sound
of burning material. Associated ideas are "unprotected/open/stationary"
and "suprise/dead. "
Also, idea of "a small child trying to sizzle a
scurrying bug with a magnifying glass-bug gets hit, stops and curls up. "
Weapon was employed in an elavated position so that it had plunging
fire. (See source sketch of area) .
Point D: Open area similiar to Point A.
Personnel in open and
unprotected; suprise.
Idea of "heating a can of tomato soup from room
temperature to 500 degrees instantly-not much left of corpse. "
4. (S/NF/SK)
Feedback:
Source was informed that he could be
expected to work this target again.
