There are angles and a diagonal at this site. Something about this site makes my nose burn and itch. The structure is long, tall, narrow and dome-shaped. The sides are smooth, hard, and could be made of glass. They curve and bend outward. The structure is shiny and bright. It has a flat top and a flat bottom. There is something diagonal off to the side of the structure, it makes me think of a lightning bolt. There are many people inside this structure. They are doing something together. The theme seems to be "get down. The activity directly related to the structure is hot smoke. The structure is on fire and 55% of the people survived. The magnificent 804-ft .- long dirigible boasted a dining room, a library and a lounge with a grand piano. While attempting to land at Lakehurst, N.J., after its 37th ocean cross- ing, the airship suddenly burst into flames. Of its 97 passengers and crew, 36 perished as the era of lighter-than-air commercial flight came to a tragic end. Though 22 still and newsreel photographers were on hand, this frame by Shere, of International News Photos, is perhaps best remembered.
