(S/NF/SK) Remote Viewer 049 perceived the presence of and undetermined number of US hostages in an area southwest of Hadhar, and west of Wadi Tharthar, Iraq (IZ), at geographical coordinates 35°20'N/42°00'E. See copy of strip map at TAB A. A second group of hostages, number undetermined, were located west of Qasr Al Khubbaz and east of Wadi Hauran, IZ, at geographical coordinates 33º20'N/41º40'E. The "greatest number of hostages" appeared to be detained in the vicinity of Rumaitha/Ramantha located south of Baghdad at geographical coordinates 31º35'N/45º 20'E. The hostages have neither been tortured nor have they been well-treated. Families are often separated; some men have been placed in small, dark, restrictive areas. Viewer 049 also accessed a place that is predominantly green with a number of narrow hallways and contains numerous objects which form walls or barriers. This tunnel-like complex appears to be partially underground. Viewer 049's summary is at TAB B. (OPS COMMENTS: 049 was unable to access the hostage situation in Kuwait. ) 3. (S/NF/SK) Iraqi intentions revolve around the release of the hostages through negotiations. A group of hostages was perceived as being kept in a long, narrow, thick building with a long walk- way. The building is reminiscent of a memorial /museum/embassy. The outside walls of the building are made of white brick. A second structure associated with the of hostages, appears to be a tall, yellow, building with a domed roof. The building seems to be a religious building, a mosque or a church; a main road crosses the front of the building. The hostages located in Kuwait, are located in the vicinity of geographical coordinates 29º15'N/47º25'E; and in the vicinity of geographical coordinates 28040'N/47º60'E. See TAB C. Approved For Release 2003/09/03 : CIA-RDP96-00789R000800110005-7 SECRET NOFORN P: 90104E V: 049 D: 901024 T: 1521-1610 S: 01 Summary of Information There is a place that is predominately green in color with a number of narrow hallways or tunnels with numerous objects stacked-up which form walls or at least prevent a straight passage. These tunnels/hallways appear to form almost a maze effect to this structure. It is either buried or partially underground with at least one entry way open to the ground surface. There is a short, chubby man with a black mustache. He is wearing a beige uniform and has something hanging from his head. He is directing movement within this maze-like location. There is another man who is being pushed or shoved along the Passageway. He is mad, angry, agitated and indignant. He is not used to being treated this way. He is not a bad man but is arrogant. Separated from him by both lateral and vertical distance is a woman. She has a sense of peacefulness about her , is wearing a flowing gown and seems translucent. She appears to me as more of a spirit than a person. She is standing on top of something while the arrogant man is within something. There is an object above him that is tall, with long smooth curves and it is dividing in half. There is a series of round objects connected together by a common straight line. Nearby is a SECRET NOFORN Approved For Release 2003/09/03 : CIA-RDP96-00789R000800110005-7

There is a crowd of people watching an event. They are all smiling but the smiles are only a facade. Nearby is another group of people in dark robes. They are faceless and are gazing towards the ground. There is a large, wooden door which appears to swing out of the shadows (out of nowhere) . Elsewhere, there is a set of living quarters; a 2 or 3 story house with other, similar, living quarters attached on either side of it. It has been recently abandoned. The people who used to be there have been taken away. They were young, old and very old. One member was gone at the time of their removal from the quarters. There is a lot of clutter inside as if the place had been "rifled through". The kitchen is cluttered and very messy as if someone had left in a hurry. There is a ஈ சாபம். bedframe without a mattress and the sense that other objects have been removed after the people had left. There is an overwhelming . ..... feeling of sorrow, hurt and violence here. The occupants , who were in the kitchen, were taken away by others who arrived in a truck or jeep. A symbol is associated with this event and appears to be on the vehicle. The symbol consisted of red/yellow flames in a leaf pattern with a gold bird or dragon-like figure in the middle. There is currently yellow stains by the door as if a yellow liquid had dried. In another location is a feature (2) SECRET NOFORN Approved For Release 2003/09/03 : CIA-RDP96-00789R000800110005-7

Near this is a convoy or procession with a high ranking individual. There is a concept of destruction, clouds or smoke that are dark and rolling. There are disjointed pieces and/or rumble lying about. The scene of a limo or VIP vehicle getting bombed (a bomb attack) comes to view. Separate from this event is a triangularly shaped object which is splitting in two. The two halves are moving back and forth in much the same manner as a butterfly moves its wings while on the ground. Another object is very angular with portions of its It blends into its surroundings and is surface coming to points. hard to detect. There is a scene of three men sitting together; almost like a painting. One has a grey beard, stripped robe and is the oldest of the group. He sits on the left. The man on the right is younger, wears green clothing and a beret-type hat and has a moustache. The third person is standing between, and behind, the former but his features can not be perceived. His face is as if it is in a veil of secrecy. He has one hand on the shoulder of each of the other two men. In another location is a woman with very black hair and dark brown skin. She is sad and grieving and is standing next to a steep staircase. As she looks outside there is a lot of dust or smoke on the horizon. It is rolling into a cluster of buildings and is moving very fast. (3) SECRET NOFORN Approved For Release 2003/09/03 : CIA-RDP96-00789R000800110005-7
