Approved For Release 2000/08/08 : CIA-RDP96-00789R000301120001-4 Site is yellow, bright, dry, grainy, gritty, with an acrid smell Terrain is largely flat, somewhat rolling, with what appear to be dry watercourses or gullies and with a range of hills in the background. The immediate area at least seems to be sandy, "deserty" and barren. There are large numbers of people in the landscape who seem to be dressed in brown or khaki and are moving around purposefully, scattered about in a wide open area but with one primary objective or intent they all share in common and are working/moving towards that interest and are cooperating together towards it. It's almost as if looking for something. There are several low, flat, rectangular, squarish structures, and at least one which seems to be tall, tapered, pointed, and perhaps leaning and dark colored. The area is large, wide, open, expansive and underpopulated except for the people here. AOL/S: Area reminds me very much of southern Nevada -- dry, desert-like. Eroded but arid. Rocky, dusty, crunchy underfoot. Impression of a sheer wall "like" a very steep gully embankment but towering over present perception and blocking out the sun. The structure of interest is flat on top, hard, with numerous angles, levels, an underground component and an aboveground component. It is large with a dark roof and light sides. There's and upper part on top and a "sticking up" part that is metallic, thin, and tall. Around the area are excavations and scars on the earth. The whole site seems to be out in the middle of nowhere. There is an impression of people in silver hardhats looking at a roll of plans/blueprints -- reminds one of "Socialist Realism" art. There is a sense of newness -- of new building/construction here, "like" creating a city out in the middle of nowhere. "Wresting civilization from the "wilderness," "pioneering", sense of mission, are all EI related things. But there's also a sense that this place is already operating even as it's being constructed. As soon as one portion of it is done, it is pressed into service. Inside the structure are white walls, clean smells, people walking. There are lots of electronic equipment with people operating it. Sense of up-to-date-ness, and professionalism .. AOL/S of satellite dishes; sense of having to do with nuclear verification/"keeping track of", but there is more capability than just this. Impression of people sitting at equipment, observing various parameters and depictions, while making adjustments to equipment in reaction to what they are observing. Sense here of monitoring and controlling an ongoing process that is not directly accessible to people while it is underway -- AOL/S "like some sort of automated process taking place where people can't be.
