Dear Bill:
As a result of the efforts of the GDIP Staff,
GRILL FLAME has achieved a new lease on life. In
the attached memo, Dr. DeLauer has authorized the
use of R&D funds for the U.S. Army INSCOM as well
as DIA/DT to continue work on this project. Mindful
of the past investments in time and manpower and
the need to preserve the fragile, painstakingly
constructed experience factor, I am particularly
gratified to see the Army able to continue its
work. I also hope that this new opportunity will
yield same hard positive conclusions that will form
the basis for a stronger and more sustained effort
in this area of inquiry throughout the near term.
