MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SG1A
AUBJECT: Unconfirmed Source Information, Pertaining to
SG1A
1. (S) The following information applies:
a. (S) Source first described a metal bridge, across a very deep
(75-100 foot) and narrow valley or ravine. The center of the span
could be lifted.
b. (S) Source stated that his position was on the north side of the
steel bridge.
c. (S) Terrain is described as being very rough, with lots of rock
outcropping. The deck of the bridge is described as being a grate type
of deck, surrounded by metal superstructures (very old).
d. (S) Source states there is a town on the opposite end of the bridge.
e. (S) Source described an object off to one side of the bridge and
just below the deck surface height. This object was described as cylind-
rical in shape very much like a modern train or aircraft fuselage, with
blue smoke coming out of holes on the visible side.
f. (S) Size of the object was stated as unknown by the Source, but he
estimates the size to roughly be about a ratio of 1-10 (width to length).
g. (S) Source also states that there are many men with packs (very large)
like parachute packs on their back sitting in an aircraft like enclosure.
They are facing each other approximately six feet of separation between
oposite rows.
2. (S) When specifically questioned about the level and nature of activity
within the area, the Source stated that there was absolutely no activity
in the area, at least none that he saw which would be of any interest to
anyone.
3. (S) Request the above information be evaluated and comments be provided
to the undersigned in writing no later than 15 June 1980, this will permit
a full evaluation of the source of information for both accuracy and intell-
igence value. Information is pertinent to 31 May 1980.
